3 Day Highland Romp - £75

ITINERARY

Day 1:

Book your tour nowWe depart Edinburgh Scotland's capital city and travel North over the river Forth to the ancient Kingdom of Fife. Our first stop is Dunino a wee hidden gem where Pictish kings were once crowned where you'll learn about one of Scotland's ancient tribal people.

Forth Rail BridgeNext we stop for lunch and you will be given some free time to do your own exploring in the historic town of St. Andrews known as the home of golf but there is also the Cathedral and castle to visit or just you can take a walk along or just chill out on its golden sandy beach. Once we're back on the road we head north again past the highest hedge in the world and then stop for a beautiful forest walk at the Hermitage.

We finish our day with a wee dram of whisky at Edradour whisky distillery Scotland's smallest distillery and A wee dramspend our first night in the picturesque village of Pitlochry.

Day 2:

Continuing north once more going deeper into the Highlands travelling through the Grampian Mountains we'll stop at Killiecrankie, Ruthven Barracks and eerie Culloden Battlefield all important historical sites before we head into the great glen for a bit of Nessie Spotting.

On arrival at mighty Loch Ness we'll chill out on the shore for a while giving those of the group hardy or just mad enough to go for a quick swim whilst the rest of the group can scan the water to get a glimpse of the A group of backpackersillusive creature  that inhabits the depths. We travel down the south and non touristy side of Loch Ness stopping along the way for photos.

Once we leave the great glen we go to Spectacular Glen Coe with it's amazing scenery and intriguing and a bloody history. Heading down the gorgeous west coast we finish our day in the sea side town of Oban also referred to as the “gateway to the isles”.

Day 3:

Travelling east back towards Edinburgh we'll stop and visit Kilchurn Castle the ancient seat of the Clan Campbell also stopping to give you a chance to take in the beautiful scenery of Argyle.

On entering the Southern Highlands you'll hear all about one of Scotland's best known folk hero's Rob Roy MacGregor and When we arrive back in the Lowlands of Scotland we stop to see an old friend of MacBackpackers Hamish Scenic archthe Highland Cow.

Book your tour nowOur last stop whilst on tour is the National Wallace Monument where you will learn all about William Wallace, Robert the Bruce and the Wars of Independence. When back in Edinburgh it's off to a traditional Edinburgh pub for a well deserved after tour pint and a chance to have a night out with your new found friends.
