World Environment Day 🌱

main-content

Today is World Environment Day!🌱
This year's theme is #BeatAirPollution. As a sustainable tour operator, we want to do our part keeping the air as clean as possible. We want everyone to be able to enjoy hikes in the beautiful scenery and fresh air also in the future.

We're part of several environmental schemes that promote sustainable tourism. We follow the principle of taking nothing but pictures and leaving nothing but footprints when we travel.

Recently we joined the Wild Scotland scheme, which represents adventure and nature tourism operators in Scotland. All the Wild Scotland members are committed to minimising any negative impacts on local nature and culture, promoting knowledge and respect for environment and communities and supporting local economies, as well as investing in enhancing Scotland’s natural heritage and improving environmental performance. We're very proud to be accepted as members just this year.

Last year we gained a Green Tourism award, which recognises the commitment of tourism businesses which are actively working to become more sustainable. We're very proud to work together for greener tourism goals. We always aim to reduce energy use, save water, recycle, buy ethically, minimise food miles and promote biodiversity.

We have an ongoing vehicle purchase program ensuring coaches are replaced every 4 to 5 years at the latest. Our current fleet of vehicles, purchased in 2017/8 at the cost of well over half a million pounds, have Euro 6 Emission Standards and are regularly maintained to ensure fuel efficiency throughout their lifespan earning ECO Stars recognition.

Besides, being part of the Green Tourism, Wild Scotland and Ecostars Europe schemes, we also have 100 hectares of woodland in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, which is being re-planted with 100% indigenous Scottish species, helping us minimise our carbon footprint.

We'll continue working hard to minimising our impact on the environment while showing you around Bonnie Scotland. You can read more about our Environmental Policy here and check out our tours here.
