Accessibility
At MacBackpackers, we want all passengers to have an enjoyable and safe experience on tour. Our trips involve travel to remote parts of Scotland and include walking, uneven terrain, changing weather conditions, and accommodation that may not be fully accessible.
We encourage all passengers to read the information below carefully before booking to decide whether our tours are suitable for their individual needs.
Before You Book
If you have any mobility, accessibility, medical, or other support requirements, please contact us before booking so we can advise whether a tour is appropriate for you.
Our tours may not be suitable for passengers who:
-
Have limited mobility or difficulty boarding vehicles independently
-
Require wheelchair-accessible transport or accommodation
-
Are unable to walk moderate distances on uneven ground
-
Require continuous personal assistance from staff
Unfortunately, due to the nature of our tours and vehicles, we are unable to provide physical assistance during the trip.
Our Vehicles
Our tours operate using minibuses and coaches which are accessed via steps at the front entrance.
Please note:
-
Vehicles are not wheelchair accessible
-
Boarding requires climbing several steps
-
Passengers must be able to enter and exit the vehicle independently or with the assistance of a travelling companion
-
Storage space for mobility aids is very limited and must be arranged in advance
-
There are no toilets onboard
For safety reasons, passengers cannot remain on a locked vehicle during tour stops or hikes.

Health & Safety
By booking a tour, passengers confirm that they are physically and mentally fit to participate safely in the activities included.
MacBackpackers reserves the right to refuse carriage or remove any passenger from a tour where, in our reasonable opinion, their condition, behaviour, or inability to participate safely may:
-
Put themselves or others at risk

Prevent the tour from operating safely or on schedule
No refunds will be issued in these circumstances.
